Mattupetty Lake, a man-made lake formed by a small hydro electricity dam is another popular tourist spot in Munnar. Tucked in steep slopes and thick woods, the dam draws a lot of tourists. After breakfast checkout from hotel and drive to Thekkady also known as Periyar. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the world's most fascinating natural wildlife reserves. Enroute visit Gap Road, Anayirangal Dam, Spice Plantations etc. Arrive and check in to the hotel. Afternoon boating (on own) at man made lake and this is the only wildlife sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wildlife at close from the safety of a boat on the lake.
